Crochet for Knitters Class
Every knitter should have a little bit of crochet skill! You'll learn very basic crochet skills so that you can stabilize stretchy neck and arm openings, make quick crocheted seams, and put a finished edge on your knitting. If time allows, students may explore decorative edgings.

Required Skillset Knitting: Proficient with the ability to COMPLETE BEFOREHAND a 6” square and a 4”x 8” rectangle to bring into class. You will be using these to practice your crochet finishing skills and need to bring them in order to participate in the
- 6” Square – Cast on 25 stitches, knit any manner of design until swatch is 6” all around and bind off.
- 4” x 8” Rectangle – Cast on 20 stitches, knit any manner of design until swatch is 8” long.
The goal is to create the two swatches as close to the sizes above as possible. No need to wash and block but if desired, give a quick steam with an iron.
MATERIALS:
Crochet Hook: US G6 / 4.00mm Knitting Needles: Size 7 / 4.5mm
Yarn: 1 skein of Coastal Cotton (any color) Tapestry needle for weaving ends
Bring the finished swatches to class ready to go, along with the rest of the yarn and the materials listed.
