Building Blocks with Christina

One of the best ways to improve your knitting skills is to learn new stitch patterns, and one of the easiest ways to do that is with blocks!  You'll work your way through the Building Blocks book with Christina, learning new tips and techniques as you build a beautiful knit throw.  Each week you'll work two different squares, until you have a full twelve squares, each a different and beautiful pattern.  Finally, you'll learn to seam them together and put the simple edging on to finish the throw.

THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO KNIT CLASS

Participants must be able to knit and purl confidently and must have either completed a beginning knitting class or have completed several projects in order to participate.  This is a class to build from basic skills. 

The workbook is included in the price of the class. Students must have purchased their yarn and had it wound before the first class meeting. 

We recommend Berroco Vintage, Queensland Coastal Cotton, Plymouth DK Merino Superwash, Cobasi DK, or Malabrigo Arroyo or Rios for this project, along with a circular knitting needle of the appropriate size for the yarn.  Worsted Weight yarn  (Vintage, Coastal Cotton, Rios) will make a slightly larger throw than DK weight yarn.

Class Policies

 All of our classes are kept small so that each student can get individualized attention. You may only reserve your space today by calling the shop to pay during business hours, or by coming into the shop and paying in person, or paying online. We expect that classes will fill quickly. Preregistration is required. All class fees are non-refundable because your payment holds your space in class. Please make sure you can attend all class sessions, as make-up sessions are at the discretion of the instructor. We reserve the right to cancel any class with less than 3 registrants, but your class fee can be used for a future session if your class is cancelled. Class credits are good for 6 months. All classes, unless otherwise noted, do not come with materials and require for yarn to be purchased at Chattanooga Yarn Co. No Children, guests, or pets are allowed in classes. Service animals are allowed. Classes are non-transferable
