First of all, I'm a terrible blogger. I don't do a good job of posting these things regularly. This is a one-horse shop and I'm that horse, and sometimes I get tired before the final furlong. I think I've taken that metaphor far enough, don't you?
One of the dead horses that I beat all the time (I guess we're sticking with horses today) is "NO NEGATIVE SELF TALK." I say it at the big table all the time. You wouldn't believe how often you, my dear customers and friends, sit at that table and say terrible things about yourself.
"I'm an idiot"
"well that was a stupid mistake"
"I'm too dumb to understand that"
"If I was actually a good knitter I would have finished by now"
STOP IT! Knitting and crochet -- NEIGH! ALL THE CRAFTS (yup, really sticking with the equine theme here) -- are something we do for love, enjoyment, relaxation, challenge, to make lovely things that we want and we want to give. It's not an IQ test. It's not a measure of your character. It's a fun thing you do in your free time.
And let me tell you this: In the two years that this shop has been open, I've come to realize that you're all pretty freaking awesome.
So stop saying mean things about my awesome friend!
