Kelbourne Woolens

We love a good sweater yarn and this is a GOOD sweater yarn!  Scout from Kelbourne Woolens is a classic, traditional DK weight wool with a gorgeous heathery color vibe and a Highland wool appearance, but a softer hand than a traditional Scottish wool.  We love the vibe of this yarn, the feel of this yarn, and the look of this yarn and we think you'll love it too!  Perfect for sweaters, whether solid, striped, or stranded, but also a cozy yarn for a wrap, cowl, or shawl. In a versatile DK weight that's perfect for southern winter weather.

A DK weight, 2 ply heathered wool designed with classic knitting and crochet in mind, Scout is yarn for the sake of yarn. Perfect for garments, Scout is put up in a generous 100 gram, 274 yard hank. It is unfussy, beautiful, high-quality, and comes in a gorgeous color palette.

As with the Highland wool in Andorra, the wool in Scout is a cross between Corriedale and Merino. It is not as soft as Merino, but it is stronger and adds durability to the yarn. Scout is also unique in that it is a heather, meaning multiple colors are pre-blended prior to spinning to create a shade with a lot of depth and variation. Natural is the one exception to this – it is the undyed white shade of wool

Cricket is a single-ply authentic Donegal tweed yarn that knits up lighter than air! Cricket can be knit densely for creating colorwork that really pops, or loosely for an ethereal lightweight fabric for soft, next-to-skin wear. The 415 yard skein is ample, and many projects can be completed in a single skein. Spun at the same mill in Donegal, Ireland as Lucky Tweed, Cricket comes in a range of gorgeous tweed colors, evoking the dramatic Irish landscape.
