In 2022, there was no local yarn shop in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dana Chadwell had worked in a local yarn shop for many years and felt the need for a home base for knitters and crocheters deeply, so she took action! After many months of long days of planning, financing, remodeling, and low-key panicking, Chattanooga Yarn Company opened its doors on October 1, 2022.  

That first year was a wild ride, but the community showed up and supported Chattanooga Yarn Company in a big way.  In those early days, there wasn’t a lot of yarn in the shop, but over the years the inventory and the community have grown!  

Chattanooga Yarn Company has become the center of a welcoming, inclusive community of yarncrafters who love great yarn and deeply appreciate the expertise of the incredible staff there. The yarn is the real star of the show! With decades of experience in the industry and an intense love of the yarn, the projects, and the skills, Dana has built a local yarn shop for everybody, no matter who you are or where you are!
